14 killed in bus-trolley collision in India

At least 14 people were killed while 40 others suffered injuries after the bus they were travelling in collided with a trolley near Suhagi Pahari in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, news agency ANI reported.

The bus was on its way from Hyderabad to Gorakhpur.

Of the 40 injured, 20 have been admitted to a hospital in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

“All people on the bus are reportedly the residents of UP,” said Navneet Bhasin, SP Rewa.

“It seems that the trolley truck had an accident with the truck in front of it and when the driver applied brakes, the bus behind it rammed into it. Police-admin and local people are here. Rescue operations were done. Injured have been sent to hospital,” said Manoj Pushp, Rewa collector.
