New Zealand topped the points table after defeating Afghanistan by a huge margin of 149 runs. They have won four matches in a row. Rashid-Farooquira kept the Kiwis under pressure with the ball. But to handle that pressure, New Zealand built a big capital.
Afghanistan faced a target of 289 runs. Afghans lost 4 wickets for 97 runs and 6 wickets for 125 runs.
Apart from Rahmat Shah and Azmatullah Omarzai, none of the Afghan batsmen could put up a fight at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Rahmat Shah scored 36 and Omarzai scored 27 runs. Afghanistan were all out for 139 runs in 34.4 overs.
