Bangladesh provided large amount of medical aid to Sri Lanka

Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) has helped Sri Lanka with large quantities of medicines.

Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) has helped Sri Lanka with large quantities of medicines. BAPI President and Member of Parliament Nazmul Hasan Papon handed over the medicines to Sri Lanka’s Acting High Commissioner Ruanthi Delpitiya in Dhaka on Wednesday.

At that time, representatives of Bapi and senior officials of the High Commission were present. This information has been informed in a circular of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry Association.

Companies providing drug support to Sri Lanka include various pharmaceuticals including Beximco Pharma, Square, Incepta, Reneta, UniMed UniHealth, Healthcare, Beacon, Acme Laboratories, Synovia Pharma and Nuvista Pharma.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, two friendly countries of South Asia, value deep and cordial relations between them. They are always committed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. As part of this, they helped by sending medicine to that country.

Incidentally, in May 2022, the government of Bangladesh supplied drugs worth $200 million to Sri Lanka.
