Canada is proud of its support to Queen Rania Teacher Academy in the enhancement of instructional and leadership skills of educators in 🇯🇴 Jordan, through the Scaling Up Teacher Professional Development project.

Canada’s Ambassador Donica Pottie was delighted to visit 🏫 Al-Bayyada Basic Mixed (coed) school in Irbid yesterday. It was an excellent opportunity to see how the Advanced Instructional Leadership Professional Diploma training is making a difference in the leadership skills of school principals and supervisors in 🇯🇴 Jordan.

Ambassador Donica Pottie also visited 🏫 Ibn Rushd Vocational Secondary school in Bani Kinanah where she joined 👩🏫 teachers participating in the Math Networks Program. A great opportunity to witness the impact of the training on the classroom skills of teachers. 👇
The Scaling up Teacher Professional Development for Quality Education project began in July 2014 with a contribution of CAD 19,499,878.

The project builds on Canada’s longstanding commitment to the education sector in Jordan. Since the beginning of its implementation, the project has been improving learning outcomes by promoting excellence in teaching – mainly in Science, Mathematics, and literacy in Arabic and English. By its end, the project will reach 33,580 teachers, principals and school leaders through different training modalities – representing an estimated 40% of the teaching population in Jordan.
