City of Toronto encourages residents to drop off items for reuse, recycling and safe disposal at Community Environment Days

The City of Toronto will be holding Community Environment Days at the City’s seven Drop-Off Depots on Sundays throughout September and October. The events begin September 12 and will run until October 31, 2021.
This year, the City will host 14 drive-thru events at Drop-Off Depots. Toronto residents will be able to drive to different stations at Drop-Off Depots to drop off household hazardous waste and electronic items, donate materials for reuse and pick up free compost.

Two events will be held at different Drop-Off Depots every Sunday at the following locations:
September 12, Dufferin Drop-Off Depot, 35 Vanley Cr.,10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
September 12, Bermondsey Drop-Off Depot, 188 Bermondsey Rd., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
September 19, Ingram Drop-Off Depot, 50 Ingram Dr., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
September 19, Scarborough Drop-Off Depot, 1 Transfer Pl., 10 a.m.to 2 p.m.
September 26, Commissioners Drop-Off Depot, 400 Commissioners St. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
September 26, Dufferin Drop-Off Depot, 35 Vanley Cr., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 3, Victoria Park Drop-Off Depot, 3350 Victoria Park Ave., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 3, Ingram Drop-Off Depot, 50 Ingram Dr., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 17, Commissioners Drop-Off Depot, 400 Commissioners St., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 17, Disco Drop-Off Depot, 120 Disco Rd., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 24, Bermondsey Drop-Off Depot, 188 Bermondsey Rd., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 24, Victoria Park Drop-Off Depot, 3350 Victoria Park Ave., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 31, Scarborough Drop-Off Depot, 1 Transfer Pl., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
October 31, Disco Drop-Off Depot, 120 Disco Rd., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Items that will be accepted at this year’s events include household hazardous waste such as propane tanks, pesticides, paint, expired medications and electronic items. Residents can also bring clothing, books, sport equipment and other items for donation. Free bagged compost will be available for pickup. There is a limit of two bags per vehicle while supplies last.
Additional materials normally accepted items at Drop-Off Depots including garbage and blue bin recycling will not be accepted during these events. Residents are encouraged to revisit during regular operating hours to dispose of these items. Kitchen containers will not be available for purchase and non-perishable food items and hearing aids will not be accepted for donation.
Commercial vehicles will not be able to dispose of waste during a Community Environment Day event but can access other Drop-Off Depots during regular operating hours. Residents should check the event schedule in advance and make alternative plans for disposal if required.
Residents who are unable to attend Community Environment Days can submit a service request to 311 to request pick-up of household hazardous waste by the City’s Toxic Taxi.
