Summerside Police and East Ruler RCMP made a joint traffic stop in St Eleanors PEI on Sunday that prompted the capture of a 28-year-elderly person and the capture of medications and firearms.

A traffic stop that Summerside Police and East Prince RCMP carried out early on April 16 resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old man. The man was taken into custody by the police, and they also found 60 grams of cocaine, 106 grams of methamphetamine, 245 pills of methamphetamine, and two guns. The accused was remanded in custody until his May 3 appearance in Summerside Provincial Court on charges of drug and firearm offenses. The investigation is still going on.

Summerside Police and the RCMP collaborated on this investigation with the assistance of the Prince District JFO and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team. Members of Kensington Police Services, Summerside Police Services, and the Prince District RCMP make up the drug unit in the Prince District JFO.

“This file is a great illustration of the outcomes that PEI police frequently achieve when working together,” – Cst Gavin Moore, Media Relations Official PEI RCMP.

The Prince District JFO Unit can be reached at 902-436-9300 for anyone with information about illegal drug or firearm activity.
