Freezin’ For a Reason

Chief Myron Demkiw led the charge into Lake Ontario as TPS and community members took to the frigid water to raising money for Special Olympics Ontario through the seventh annual Polar Plunge at Budapest Park February 25.

“We’re celebrating Special Olympics, raising money and awareness for a very important cause and we’re freezing for a reason today,” said Chief Demkiw, in the sub-zero temperatures. “Sport brings people together in harmony, in a joyful environment and allows people to express themselves in a meaningful way.”

The Toronto event alone raised over $65,000.

More Polar Plunge events are planned across Ontario and donations can still be made at PolarPlunge.ca
