Geetika Srivastava is taking charge of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. He is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Indo-Pacific Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India. India’s official news agency PTI gave this news citing sources who know about this.
It is said that Suresh Kumar is currently on this duty in Islamabad. He will return to New Delhi. He will be replaced by Geetika. He is a 2005 batch officer of Indian Foreign Service. On August 5, 2019, India revoked the special status or autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s diplomatic relations with India deteriorated due to his protest.
