An Indian woman named Anju left her husband and children for love and reached Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The provincial police reported this information on Sunday (23 July).
According to the police, the Indian woman rushed to Pakistan to meet her lover. First they became friends on Facebook, then it turned into a love affair.
The 34-year-old woman was born in Kailore village of Uttar Pradesh, India and lived in Alwar district of Rajasthan with her husband and children. From there, the woman moved to meet her 29-year-old Pakistani boyfriend, Nasrullah, in Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, due to a love affair.
ARY News reported that Nasrullah, who works in the medical field, and Anju became friends on social media Facebook a few months ago. Anju visited Pakistan for a month but did not marry her boyfriend Nasrullah. The Indian woman was initially in police custody. The district police released him after verifying his travel documents.
Meanwhile, a source told PTI that he was allowed to go after all the travel documents were in order. They were given security to prevent any untoward incident that might bring the country into disrepute.
A police officer of Dir police station said that the Indian woman Anju and her boyfriend were released after verification of documents by senior police officer Mushtaq Khab.
Following media reports, a Rajasthan Police team reached Anju’s house in Bhiwadi to inquire about her.
Her husband Arvind told the police that his wife left home on Thursday (July 20) on the pretext of going to Jaipur. Later came to know that his wife had gone to Pakistan.
He also said that he left home saying he was going to meet his friend. I spoke to him on WhatsApp a few days back and learned that he is in Lahore.
He said that they got married in 2007 and have been living together since then.
Bhiwadi Assistant Superintendent of Police Sujit Shankar told PTI, quoting Anju’s husband, that Anju left home on Thursday. He had a valid passport with him.
He also said that no complaint has been received from the family in this regard.
The couple works in a private organization in Bhiwadi. They have a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son.
