According to the report, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the news of an Israeli attack on a hospital in Gaza “horrific and completely unacceptable”. He made the comments on Tuesday when asked about Israel’s attacks on places like hospitals.
Canada says Israel must comply with international law when carrying out strikes against Hamas.
Trudeau told reporters, “The news coming out of Gaza is appalling and absolutely unacceptable… International law needs to be respected in this case and at all times.” There are certain rules of war. Attacking hospitals in the name of war is not acceptable.
The Israeli military, however, initially said it had no details about the hospital bombing. Israel later claimed that a rocket fired by Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters hit the hospital.
However, the Palestinian independence armed group Hamas blamed Israel for the attack.
Meanwhile, Canada has ordered its citizens to leave Lebanon. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said Tuesday that Canadian citizens should leave Lebanon now while commercial flights are still available amid growing instability in the Middle East.
In addition, Canada has evacuated 1,300 citizens since the start of the Hamas-Israel war on October 7.
On the other hand, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, said that he was “angry and deeply saddened” by the terrible attack on the hospital in the Gaza Strip. He asked the security advisers to collect more detailed information in this incident.
Incidentally, Israel attacked the hospital in the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday. Gaza’s Ministry of Health said that 500 people died together in that one attack.
