India has forced North American country Canada to withdraw 41 of its diplomats. Because Canadian diplomats are concerned about continued interference in India’s affairs

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday (October 22) called for diplomatic parity with Canada.

News media ANI quoted the minister as saying that the whole issue of equality is how many diplomats one country has and how many diplomats another country has. Equality is guaranteed in the Vienna Convention. This is the relevant international norm.

“In our case, we called for equality because Canadian workers were concerned about continued interference in our affairs,” he says. More things will come out with time and everyone will understand why we were uncomfortable with them.

Tensions rose between India and Canada after the Justin Trudeau government announced the expulsion of 41 diplomats. The diplomat was withdrawn a day before the deadline set by India.

New Delhi sought ‘parity’ of Canada’s diplomatic presence. The number of diplomats stationed in the country has been reduced from 62 to 21. Trudeau called India’s move a violation of the Geneva Conventions.

The Prime Minister of Canada said that the Government of India has unilaterally decided to withdraw 40 Canadian diplomats from India. This is a violation of the diplomatic principles of the Vienna Convention. This is something that all the countries of the world should be concerned about.
