Lease scam: ACC grills 3 Biman officials

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated three Biman officials accused of irregularities in the leasing process of two aircrafts.

The accused are – Biman manager planning (flee and dev) Mohammad Azad Rahman, principal system engineer (propulsion) GM Iqbal and general manager of legal affairs Azra Nasreen Rahman.

A team of ACC comprising Deputy Director Anwarul Haque and Assistant Director Jesmin Aktar interrogated them at the headquarters of the watchdog around 10:00am on Tuesday (October 11).

Earlier on October 2, the ACC summoned nine officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines for interrogations over their alleged involvement in irregularities in leasing two Boeing 777 airliners from Egypt Air in 2014.
