Love triangle behind Eva murder
Schoolgirl Sanjeeda Khanam Eva was killed in a preplanned way following triangle love affairs. Sanjida’s three lovers took part in the killing mission. She was apparently killed by a knife.
Sanjeeda’s boyfriend Nahidul Islam alias Sayem gave this confessional statement before the court under section 164 on Thursday.
Rangpur District Police Assistant Superintendent of Police (A Circle) Ashraful Alam Palash said that Sanjida met Sayem three years ago. A love relationship developed between them. When Sayem came to know about Sanjeeda’s relationship with several boys, they often quarreled.
Sayem’s anger prevailed on Sanjeeda. Sayem brought Sanjeeda to Shapla cinema hall in the city saying to watch a movie as per the pre-planned last August 16 afternoon. There, a fight broke out between the two over Sanjeeda’s new love. Later Sayem with the help of two others left Sanjeeda in Mahiganj. After some time, Sayem took Sanjeeda from Mahiganj to Peergacha Ali Baba theme park. Because it’s night, Sanjeeda repeatedly pressed Sayem to return home from the park.
They then came from the park to a vacant lot on Kaunia-Madhupur road and Sanjeeda was interrogated about multiple love affairs. At that time, when an argument started between them, Sayem along with her other two lovers killed Sanjeeda with a knife. After that, Sanjeeda’s body was dumped on the side of Madhupur Road and they run away.
Meanwhile, that night, the police received information that a girl was lying on the roadside in a bloody state in the Haricaran Laskarpara area of the upazila. After that, she was rescued from there and taken to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared Sanjeeda dead. His family later identified the body as that of Sanjeeda. There were 18 stab marks on her body. The police sent the body to the morgue that night for autopsy.
The district police officer also said that we arrested Sayem based on intelligence information and a ledger found in the victim’s bag. Lover Sayem admitted to the murder in court. They killed Sanjeeda premeditated because of multiple love relationships. Sayem passed HSC from Cantonment Public School and College in the city. He is the son of Noor Hossain of Mahiganj taluk Upashu village. An operation is underway to arrest those involved in the murder.
It is to be noted that the police recovered Sanjeeda’s throat-slit body from Kutirpar market of Kaunia upazila on the side of Madhupur road around 10 o’clock on Tuesday night. In this incident, Sanjeeda’s father Ibrahim Khan filed a murder case at Kaunia police station as a plaintiff. Sanjeeda was a 10th grader at Baradarga High School.
