The Women’s Multicultural Resource & Counselling Centre of Durham is one of ten new locations in Ontario where the Investing in Women’s Futures program will be expanded by the government. More women who face social and economic obstacles will be able to connect with resources and learn the skills they need to become financially secure and self-sufficient as a result of this. This expansion is part of a $6.9 million investment that will be spread out over three years to make the program better and give women more opportunities in the workforce.

The Putting resources into Ladies’ Fates program gives a scope of adaptable administrations and work status upholds for ladies confronting social and financial hindrances, including those encountering orientation based savagery and social disconnection. Women can use these services and support to get past any obstacles, improve their well-being, learn new skills, and find work. The Women’s Multicultural Resource & Counselling Centre of Durham will implement the Investing in Women’s Futures program in the Durham Region with a $325,000 investment spread out over three years. Women with lived experiences of violence and abuse who are vulnerable and underserved will receive trauma-informed counseling from the organization. Housing, mental health, addictions, safety planning, legal issues, system navigation, and difficulties encountered by newcomers will all be addressed through the program. Workshops on self-confidence and empowerment will also be offered, as will instruction in technology, interviewing, workplace culture, and negotiation.

This $6.9 million venture expands on the $18 million financing from 2022-2025 to help the Putting resources into Ladies’ Fates and Ladies’ Monetary Security programs.
