10 Paramedics to Receive Inaugural Ontario Medal for Paramedic Bravery

The first-ever Ontario Medal for Paramedic Bravery will be presented to paramedics from all over the province by the government of Ontario. The medal is given to paramedics who have shown great bravery by putting their own lives in danger to save others’.

In a ceremony this evening at Queen’s Park, the Honorable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, and Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, will award medals to ten paramedics. Ontario’s paramedics will receive a medal for their efforts for the first time this year.

“As Lieutenant Lead representative, I have seen direct the amazing magnanimity and grit of people on call,” said the Noteworthy Elizabeth Dowdeswell. ” Although it is commonly stated that our time is uncertain, few Ontarians actually experience uncertainty in their daily work lives in the same way that paramedics do. Before their movements start, they don’t have the foggiest idea where they will be dispatched, under what conditions, or how they will be approached to help. I would like to express my gratitude to the province of this year’s exceptional award recipients for their dedication, bravery, and devoted service.

Beneficiaries are perceived for their singular demonstrations of exceptional courage, including moving a crashed plane to save travelers inside, plunging to the lower part of Lake Ontario to protect a suffocated man, grasping a self-destructive man on a parkway edge, swimming an oblivious bluff jumper to somewhere safe and secure, saving other specialists on call during a gas line blast, and protecting laborers from an imploded constructing.
