‘Poran’ sets record in US, screening in 22 theaters for 4th week

Ever since its release in the United States, the much-discussed movie of Bangladesh ‘Poran’ has won the hearts of the audience. Last Eid-ul-Azha, the movie ‘Poran’ directed by Raihan Rafi and produced by Live Technologies was released. The movie is going to set a record by screening in around 85 cities in the United States.

Raj Hameed, the owner of Bioscope Films, the distributor of the movie in the United States, said that “the movie ‘Poran’ has won the attention of the American audience”. The movie will run in 22 theaters in the fourth week with great interest from the audience. This list includes theaters in Augusta, Georgia, Florida, Reno, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Indianapolis.

“We are taking ‘Poran’ to some cities where Bengali movies have not been shown before. For example – ‘Poran’ will be shown in states such as Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Wilmington, and Delaware. It is really a huge achievement for Bengali cinema,” he added.

Earlier, the audience enjoyed the movie by buying advance tickets in various cities in Jamaica, New York, Orlando, Brunswick, Manassas, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore, San Francisco, New Jersey, Virginia, Texas, Florida, California, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut.

Bioscope Films Managing Director (MD) Nowshaba Rubna Rashid said that viewers from different cities are expressing their interest in watching the movie ‘Poran’ every day. Due to their interest, we are getting encouragement to show Bengali movies in different cities in the United States. This is how Bengali cinema will turn around one day.

Meanwhile, it has been seen on social media that the audience of the United States is taking pictures with the poster of the film ‘Poran’ in the cinema hall. The audience applauds Sariful Razz’s performance in the movie. Not only that, but the audience also enjoyed the performance of Nasir Uddin Khan who played the role of OC. Apart from this, the performance of Mim and Yash Rohan touched the hearts of the audience.

Rashed Mamun Apu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Rosey Siddiqui, Shilpi Sarker Apu, etc. also starred in the movie ‘Poran’.
