Province Thanks and Honours Ontario Workers on Labour Day

@ Sadia Haque
Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development, issued the following statement to mark Labour Day:
“This Labour Day, we salute the hardworking men and women who have kept our communities strong and who make Ontario great.
From those who cared for our most vulnerable, kept our lights on and put food on our tables to those maintaining the roads we travel on, building the roofs over our heads and so much more – families in every city and town thank you for your dedication, sacrifice and courage. We should all take pride in what we saw this past year, true examples of business and labour working together in the Ontario spirit.
As we look ahead, we can remain confident knowing that our efforts have paved the way for a better future for workers and their families.
Everyday, our government is committed to protecting workers and standing up for good jobs. There are hundreds of thousands of bigger paycheques waiting to be collected and we’re giving people the hand up they need to get them.
Together, we are on a mission to spread opportunity more widely and fairly. The way we work has changed but, by taking the right steps now, we can all bounce back stronger than ever before.
While the past eighteen months have been different in many ways, one thing remains the same – our unwavering gratitude for the workers in this province and our pride in how they have dealt with the unexpected challenges that have come their way. We will continue to have your back and do everything to ensure Ontario remains the best place to live, have a meaningful career and raise a family. Thank you.”
