RCMP Traffic Services East seizes three vehicles for excessive speeding over three-day period

RCMP Traffic Services East stopped three aggressive drivers, all speeding in excess of 51 km/h, over a three-day period.

On Saturday, June 18, shortly before 11:30 a.m., a 45-year-old St. John’s man was stopped for traveling 165 km/h on Route 100 (Argentia Access Rd). On Sunday, June 19, shortly before 9:30 a.m., a 41-year-old Conne River man was stopped for traveling 159 km/h on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) near Middle Gull Pond. On Monday, June 20, shortly after 7:00 a.m., a 19-year-old Paradise man was stopped for traveling 157 km/h on the TCH at Hodgewater Line.

All drivers were ticketed for excessive speeding, their vehicles were impounded, and their driver’s licenses were suspended.

RCMP NL continues to fulfill its mandate to protect public safety, enforce the law, and ensure the delivery of priority policing services in Newfoundland and Labrador.
