There is a fierce conflict between the Taliban and the Pakistani border guards. It is reported that the Pakistani army posts were attacked on the Afghanistan border on Wednesday. According to the latest reports, the gunfight is still going on.
According to international media sources, fierce fighting began in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province located on the Pakistan-Afghan border. Tehreek-e-Taliban troops attacked the Pakistani army. Hundreds of Taliban descended like locusts with sophisticated weapons. They captured two posts of Pakistan army. However, the Pakistan Army claimed that they had been freed. It is reported that several soldiers of both sides have died in the fighting. Islamabad has not yet commented on it. However, the gun battle has been going on ever since. Islamabad has closed all border crossings to bring the situation under control.
It is good to say that Pakistan supported the Mujahideen during the Soviet campaign in Afghanistan. US spy agency CIA used to deliver arms to Afghan warlords with the help of ISI. From time to time, the country became the patron of the Taliban rulers. But now Pakistan’s relationship with them has deteriorated. According to a UN report a couple of months ago, the Taliban has practically become a ‘Frankenstein’ for Pakistan.
It should be noted that the rift in the Taliban-Pakistan relationship is gradually widening. Basically, Islamabad is angry with the Afghan Taliban over the rise of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant group. TTP continues to sabotage the soil of Pakistan. Despite repeated requests from Islamabad, Mullah Akhundzada’s organization is reluctant to take action against the organization. Afghan Taliban are clear, TTP is about Pakistan. Kabul has nothing to do with it.
