Whitehorse RCMP seeking assistance in locating a suspect in a break and enter

In an afternoon break-in that occurred on April 12, 2023, the Whitehorse RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.

Whitehorse police received a call about a break-in that was taking place in the Whistle Bend neighborhood around 2:30 p.m. The caller stated that home surveillance cameras showed a person who appeared to be armed and attempting to enter a residence.

Police arrived at the scene right away. The person left the house while police were on their way to the neighborhood, according to the officers on the scene.

Since some roads in Whistle Bend were temporarily closed for public safety, the police thanked the general public for their cooperation.

The suspect’s identity is now being sought by Whitehorse RCMP Detachment investigators. The individual is portrayed as around 5’8 to 5’10 tall with a typical form.

At the hour of this offense, the individual was wearing:

  • a black or dark brown sweater with white writing on the sleeve;
  • a black face mask and dark sunglasses;
  • a dark hat or hood;
  • yellow gloves.

Any additional physical characteristics are obscured by the hood or hat.

Police are aware that a picture of the suspect, including the weapon, is being shared on social media.
