Toronto Police 11 Division recognized Runnymede Healthcare Centre for providing COVID rapid testing and vaccines to Service members.

Plaques were presented to Runnymede President & CEO Connie Dejak and Vice President Risk, Quality & Clinical Transformation Geeta Grewal at the Division on June 11.

Inspector Joyce Schertzer said the health care professionals extended themselves personally and professionally to TPS members.

“They displayed extraordinary dedication in keeping us all safe during a global pandemic,” she said, of the Runnymede team. “We are so fortunate to have the support of Runnymede Healthcare Centre. We feel the love and are so grateful.”

Jon Reid, president of the Toronto Police Association, acknowledged the tireless efforts of Dejak and Grewal in supporting the vaccination efforts while Inspector David Ecklund sent a message on behalf of the Service’s COVID-19 Vaccine Roll-Out Working Group.

“When we speak about partnerships, we are generally referring to those between the police and our communities, supporting public safety,” said Ecklund. “This partnership is no different as it too supports public safety in another sense. Providing our members with these vaccines rings a new lens to our mission statement of keeping Toronto the best and safest place to be.”
